Live Medal Updates

We've just updated the medals section of the website, now it shows you all the games that have medals — links directly to show you how many medals you have remaining and also shows you who's winning medals right now on the website.

We've had a lot of new user registrations in the past few days because of the success of SandStorm over the internet. Because of this I thought it finally made sense to show you guys a little snapshot of what's happening (with the live medal update on the new medals page).

I'll be updating again soon to show you on that single page what medals you have left to collect, that way you can easily decide which game to play next!

Calling All Players

TurboSwede brought something to our attention at JohnnyTwoShoes — something that we have never really asked you guys for — promotion.

We rarely get time to promote our games like they should be, we don't advertise anywhere ourselves and rely on people "coming across" JohnnyTwoShoes online. Sure — we've got a bit better in search rankings over time but what would really help us to grow is new traffic and new players!

If you know of a place where people talk about games, in forums that you visit or other websites that promote online games we'd love it if you could give JohnnyTwoShoes a mention.

Banana Dash Players

We've been tracking the progress of Banana Dash World 2 through mochiads — to our excitement we had 1 play every 0.68 seconds yesterday (not including plays on JTS)! Today this number is set to increase massively, we're expecting over 2 plays every second at least from the current statistics.

It's an exciting time for JohnnyTwoShoes and all its players! We've had few days off (for my 23rd birthday!) but we're back now to make some more awesome games and improvements to the site!

We are so lucky at JohnnyTwoShoes to have such great players, what's even better is when we receive emails with bugs and artwork.

Here are some of our favourites, DarkAchilles sent us a video he made in After Effects. We just love it, take a look!

DravirDude has stunned us againt with his wonderful artwork based on the BananaDash series.

Helpful players have received bonus points to their accounts as of now.

Also, thanks to everyone that's helped us on the SandStorm beta. It's now closed while we ready the final version of the game with medals and highscores integration.

Banana Dash 3 and SandStorm Previews

Banana Dash World 3 will take a bit longer to complete, we've been working solid on game releases to try and bring the next stage of awesome to JTS. It's just going to take a little longer.

But instead of going away empty handed, valued players will get to play the SandStorm preview right now. It's without medals, saves or scores but it's a great game and you can play it before everyone else (check your inbox to see if you got an invite, if not, ask nicely :)

Have fun with SandStorm, we expect Banana Dash World 3 will be ready as of tomorrow. It's crazy fun by the way, we've been laughing our heads off while making testing levels.

The Heist & HighSpeedChase 2

Heist and HighSpeedChase 2 are different games, we had some ideas for the HSC engine that didn't fit inside what HSC2 is meant to be so we made a spin-off game. It's actually really awesome, very pick-up-and-play but with elements of upgrade and a mission structure to keep more dedicated players interested for longer.

For example, in the Heist you'll be able to employ new gang members to complete harder jobs that will earn you more money. Obviously, gang members come at a price and will want there own cut of the stolen money so it's about balance and skill to make the top spots on the leaderboard.

HighSpeedChase 2 is all about targets (like the current version), but this time you can collect pickups as shown in the early promotional video.

Guns like Pistol and Uzi are what you'll come across in terms of out-of-the-window weaponry. You'll also be able to collect boost, slow motion and health pickups.

We've decided to include a number of sub-objectives in HSC2 dedicated to earning medals, this means you can come back to the game with fresh objectives so mainstream gameplay has a good longetivity.

So, The Heist is more of a mission based game and HighSpeedChase2 borrows a lot from arcade style games where you just want to be thrown into the action and get some awesome medals along the way. Both games also have different graphics styles so they will look like different games too, even though they're based on the same game engine.

SandStorm Race Tracks

I thought it would be nice to reveal the SandStorm tracks for the new game. While making the race tracks I realised that like clouds they reminded me of other stuff too, number 7 looks like a duck and number 8 looks like a little bike.

Come up with your own I'll be give jts points for funny and creative ideas.

SandStorm and RSS fix

I've already mentioned "The Heist" in my last post, things have changed slightly because we wanted to quickly release a new title that we could sell a non-exclusive license for. This is SandStorm.

SandStorm will be the next new game to release on JohnnyTwoShoes, it's a few days away from completion but we're looking to get a non-exclusive license for this game so that means it's launch could be a little while after that (since it has to go through various stages of review on the hosts site).

SandStorm is a top down racing game (not like The Heist or HighSpeedChase series) where you compete against other racers, upgrade your buggy and progress through the tournament.

We're pretty excited about these games we have in development, it's going to be amazing when they're all online with new medals. I'm really looking forward to finishing world 3 of Banana Dash as well, Josh has basically done the new engine for it, down to me and Sarah to put the new graphics in.

I'm going to try and post new updates everyday from now on.

To Heist or not to Heist

We've been a bit secret about our HighSpeedChase spinoff but I couldn't resist telling you about "The Heist".

Our new game, based on the HighSpeedChase 2 engine but with upgrade elements (armour for your van, new gang members etc). Due for release in about a fortnight, we have 6 games in our current release line-up and we'll be spilling the details on these too very soon.
